Holiday Hot Tub Party

Are you hosting a Christmas party? Having family and friends over to enjoy that hot tub of yours? Searching for tips on how to throw the best hot tub party? Look no further! Here are some of our tips on how to throw a safe yet enjoyable hot tub party.

Cleanliness, Disinfection & Water Temperature
Now this probably goes without saying but always remember that it’s the owner’s responsibility to ensure the water is clean and safe, to prevent the spread of infections. Make sure to maintain the proper level of disinfectant to keep the water free of microorganisms.

The temperature of a hot tub should never be hotter than 40°C (104°F). If your hot tub does not have a digital temperature, always keep a floating thermometer in the water.

Know Your Numbers
Every hot tub has its limit. It’s important to find out what the maximum capacity of your hot tub is. Know the number and stick to it! With that number in mind, you can now come up with a plan on how many people to invite.

When throwing a hot tub party you always want to keep your guest busy. It’s a great idea to have something else planned for guests to participate in while they are waiting to hop in or once they have relaxed in the tub for long enough. Did you know that 15-20 minutes is generally considered a safe soaking time for adults?

A visit with Santa is always a great crowd pleaser, but if you need other ideas, cards and board games are also lots of fun too!

Have Extra Supplies
You can make the invitation crystal clear that it’s a hot tub party, and there will still always be someone (or many people!) who forgets to bring a swimsuit or towel!

Plan ahead and have extra towels and swimsuits ready so that nobody is left out. It’s also always good to have a first aid kit, you know, just in case!

Food, Drink & Music
We all know a huge part of what makes a party is the food and drink that’s served. With that being said, when throwing a hot tub party, guests aren’t likely going to want to overindulge when they’re standing there in a tight swimsuit; we all know the feeling! Light appetizers and snacks are usually best.

Take it easy on the booze while in the hot tub, and make sure your guests do too! Although you want your guests to have a merry time, you also want to make sure it’s safe and enjoyable!

Alcohol can lower the body’s resistance to the effects of overheating and can also cause drowsiness. Make sure to have lots of water available as well as some non-alcoholic beverages. You may want to serve your drinks in plastic cups. That way you avoid any glasses being broken in the tub!

Now I know everyone will likely be catching up with friends and family that they haven’t seen in a while, but make sure to have some great Christmas music on in the background. Always have a mix of different genres so that there’s a little something for everyone.

I’m pretty sure your tree is up and the decorations are at the ready, but just in case you don’t, always make it festive and fun by adding a few decorations! We promise you, it will really bring the party together!

Our final piece of advice to you is to relax and enjoy yourself! We wish you all the best this holiday season and hope that 2017 is a great year for all of you.
