Concrete Swimming Pools and Spas, being rigid in nature, often contain cracks in the floor or walls. Many of these cracks may be simple cracks in the plaster due to shrinkage. Others may be structural cracks allowing water leakage, leading to plaster and tile damage. It is important to inspect all cracks and determine their source. Small surface cracks are merely ascetical imperfections which can be ignored, where as structural cracks should be addressed as soon as possible.
West Coast Pool Service has a proven solution to structural repair using the Patented Torque Lock system. Torque Lock staples, utilizing a reinforced metallic cam, stabilize the crack using up to 5000lbs of compression force within each staple. Although it won't close an existing crack it will reduce the risk of further localized cracking. Further information on the technique may be viewed on Torque Locks website. http://www.torque-lock.com/
